Breastmilk is the best natural food choice for babies, it provides all the energy and nutrients that the infant needs for healthy growth and development. Breastmilk assists the emotional bond between mother and child and contributes to the emotional development of the infant. It has been associated with baby’s resistance to infectious disease, infant mortality, and hospitalisation.
There are many complex and varied benefits of breastfeeding including nutritional, immunological, social and economic cannot be replicated by any infant formula product.
Breastfeeding also contributes to the health and well-being of mothers, it helps the bond between you and your baby, through skin to skin contact, increases family and national resources as it is a secure way of feeding and is safe for the environment.
The World Health Organisation’s (WHO) infant feeding recommendation states that “Breastfeeding is an unequalled way of providing ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants; it is also an integral part of the reproductive process with important implications for the health of mothers.” WHO recommend that babies be exclusively breastfed from birth to 6 months and then partially breastfed up to 2 years and beyond. Occasionally lumpy formula may happen, this is normal and safe. To help avoid it, place the water in the bottle first, then add powder formula after and shake the bottle until is fully dissolved. Ensure the water is lukewarm (around 40 oC). Warmer water will help dissolve lumpy powder, however always test the temperature of the formula before feeding to ensure it is not too hot to feed your baby.
Wattle Health voluntarily complies with the Marketing in Australia of Infant Formulas (MAIF) agreement, which does not support the sampling of infant formula products to the public, pregnant women, parents or members of their families.

Follow the preparation guide. Ensure bottles, teats and caps are clean and free from detergent. Air is commonly incorporated into the formula during mixing, causing some bubbles or foam. Compared to the shaking motion, stirring motion may result in less air inclusion in the formula and less foam.
